Preschool Special Education
If a child is approved by their local school district to receive preschool special education services, arrangements will be made for an eligible child to receive one or more of the following special education programs and/or services recommended by the Committee on Preschool Special Education Services (CPSE) including, but not limited to: Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Psychological Therapy, Social Work Services and other disabilities services as appropriate.
New York State certified special education and early childhood teachers are trained to work with each child and meet their individual needs. Teachers work closely with the child’s interdisciplinary team to develop a program that meets a child’s social, emotional, cognitive, language and physical needs on a daily basis. Teachers place great importance on early literacy including listening, problem-solving, independence, and engagement in learning.
