Counseling/Psychology

Just Kids Learning Center contracts with JK Diagnostic and Treatment Center for a full array of psychological services. The Psychology Department is an integral component of the Just Kids interdisciplinary team. Our doctoral level psychologists and licensed clinical social workers provide our students with psychological counseling and play therapy, behavioral interventions, and individualized classroom supports that are designed to improve social, emotional, and behavioral outcomes for our students. As part of our comprehensive early childhood program, our Psychology Department provides large group instruction within the classroom environment to support students’ social-emotional needs. Our Psychology Department also works closely with all members of the child’s interdisciplinary team in order to assess each child’s needs and implement therapeutic programming that can address challenging and complex behaviors. The psychologists and clinical social workers monitor all interventions to ensure effectiveness and regularly communicate with families to inform them of their child’s progress and needs.
