The BCBA is responsible for providing ongoing training and support to staff in the areas of behavior management and data collection. The BCBA must be an effective communicator and have a strong background in Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs). The primary role of the BCBA is to identify contributing factors to student behaviors and develop and oversee the implementation of behavior plans. Creating resources, modeling effective behavioral interventions and strategies, and consulting with the interdisciplinary team are all important components of this position.
