Full Description:

The speech therapist’s general responsibilities include performing individual and group speech-language therapy sessions as stated on each child’s IEP and working within an interdisciplinary team approach. Speech therapists are also responsible for completing paperwork such as daily log notes, tracking of progress, and progress reports. Productivity enhancement bonuses are available as well as the opportunity to complete initial and supplemental speech evaluations as fee for service.

Required Education:

Master’s Degree (M.A. or M.S.) in Speech/Language Pathology or Communication Sciences from an accredited college or university

Valid Certification as a Teacher of Speech and Hearing Handicapped or equivalent from NYS Education Department (Division of Teacher Certification)

License and current registration from the NYS Education Department (Division of Professional Licensing) to practice in the State of NY as a Speech Pathologist
