OPENING PLAN

Considerations for a safe return to school!

This plan was developed to conform to the guidance provided by the New York State Education Department (NYSED), Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS), New York Department and Health (NYDOH), and Center for Disease Control (CDC). Just Kids will continue to monitor all guidelines and revise this plan as needed. Input from the families that we serve, staff members, and community stakeholders helped mold this plan. Health and safety continue to be our top priority and we strongly encourage parent and staff feedback.

The Just Kids’ plan focuses on four critical components

We know our program must be as flexible and as responsive as possible to the needs of our students, families and staff members. We will closely monitor the conditions of our community as the COVID 19 pandemic continues.

REOPENING

Reopening of our schools to provide in-person instruction and therapy in a safe and healthy environment for all children and staff.

MONITORING

Monitoring health protocols and procedures to ensure the effectiveness and appropriateness of our hygiene, cleaning and disinfecting plan.

CONTAINMENT

Containment to prevent spreading of the disease if infection is detected.

CLOSURE

Closure if infection cannot be contained or if closure is otherwise necessary and/or required by the state or local department of health.

A Welcome Back Guide for Kids

Because of Coronavirus, there are a lot of strange things going on in the world right now, and some of it might seem scary and confusing. This book is meant to help kids understand the impact of the virus in a way that does not make them more worried than they already may be.
