Middle Island K-2

Middle Island K-2

The Middle Island location offers a supportive, individualized K–2 program for students on the autism spectrum, with an emphasis on academic development, communication, social-emotional growth, and independence. Our New York State licensed 853 program is aligned with the New York State Learning Standards and provides individualized instruction designed around each student’s unique strengths, needs, and learning goals. Teachers, therapists, and families work together to monitor progress and create a consistent, nurturing learning environment.

Our Middle Island team provides an integrated range of therapeutic and support services, including speech-language therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, counseling, parent training, small-group physical education, and behavior support provided by a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Specialized learning and sensory spaces are incorporated throughout the program to encourage regulation, engagement, and meaningful participation in daily activities. Through close collaboration with families and a compassionate, flexible approach, our staff helps students build the skills and confidence needed to thrive both in the classroom and beyond.
